It was the first time I had been to the annual Blessing of the Fleet in Gig Harbor. It was a June day in Gig Harbor. One which you didn’t know whether you wanted to be on land or water. Boats of all sizes were packed around the public dock floating as one. There were cruisers, rowers, paddlers and a fishing fleet rafted side by side. A drone appeared above the waterfront car show below. I couldn’t help take a stroll through yesterday’s restored essentials and walk by the dock through the city’s net shed pausing to sit on the deck watching the various boats. I wanted to be sailing the scamp or rowing a Gig Harbor Whitehall. Or maybe driving a convertible corvette or restoring a ’65 truck. Would’ve also liked to hover over, observing the proceedings. Taking it all in, it turned out to be another great summer day.

Come visit the boats at our shop. We have models of each of our boats for you to get up close and personal with. We’re open Weekdays 9-5 and Saturdays by appt. If you come by boat, our shop can be reached easily by trolly. Three trolly stops up Peacock hill, where the city sidewalk ends. You’ll see our sign hopefully not obscured by blackberry vines.
