Hi everyone! Last time we checked in with you all about our Lobster Boat progress, we shared our first glimpse of the CAD drawings and the features we intended to include. We’re excited to finally share our full 3D design rendering, talk you through some of the enhancements we’re making to this boat, and give you details about the 20% OFF PREORDER SPECIAL that’s now available!

Our 15′ Lobster Boat is a planing-hull motorboat with classic looks that you can also sail and row.

  • Offered with two sail rig options, balanced lug or sloop. The balanced lug is a very simple rig that’s easy for beginners to learn; the traditionalists and more experienced sailors may prefer the sloop. The balanced lug will be included in the base price; the sloop will be an optional upgrade.
  • Centerboard and Kick-Up Rudder for easy launch & landing.
  • Optional dry storage hatches in port and starboard seats.
  • Rowable from one of two rowing positions (no sliding seat available).
  • Options/Upgrades expected to be similar to those on the Jersey Skiff.
  • The ultimate versatile small boat that can do it all.
“One of the most surprising things about the Lobster Boat is how natural she looks both under sail and as a powerboat.”
-Small Craft Advisor Magazine review of our original Lobster Boat

3D Design Concept Preview

To help you visualize the features mentioned above, here’s a 5-minute “show and tell” video with the 3D model. Since this is only a design-rendering and some things might change, we did a narration to point out what we’re looking at, what parts of the design are locked in, and what parts are “for position only” at this time. (Some details we can’t really set until we have a physical hull to work with, and of course we don’t have all the trim or custom features at this point.)

Check out the video above, and then take a spin through the 3D model at your own pace here at this link.

Lobster Boat Specs (Estimated)

  • Displacement: ~375 lb

The photo below of the original Lobster Boat demonstrates the utility and stability of this design; two people can comfortably stand up, move around, and fish or pull crab pots. From this angle, the new Lobster Boat will look virtually identical to the original:

“If you could only have one boat to do everything, this is the one you want.“
