Coming Soon: 16.5′ Melonseed sailboat – A Timeless Classic with Modern Touches
This stock Melonseed is currently in production and will be available soon! This sailing model features a custom Topaz gel coat deck, a striking Red gel coat strake, and a Dune Beige interior. Built for both beauty and performance, it includes a pair of 8′ spoon blade oars, stainless steel keel rib strip, storage hatches, a tiller extension, and Jiffy Reefing for the balanced lug rig sail.
The Melonseed is a classic design rooted in the Chesapeake Bay, offering a blend of grace, speed, and versatility. At 16’5” with a 64” beam, it provides exceptional tracking thanks to its flat-bottom box keel, allowing it to sit level on docks and beaches. The sealed deck increases freeboard, ensuring comfortable heeling under sail without swamping. With its balanced lug rig, the Melonseed is easy to handle, performs well in light winds, and allows for sliding seat rowing—even with the mast up.
