Fredrik and Nancy continue their Salish Voyager photojournal with a holiday hello from their winter hideout in Baranof, Alaska.
Winter arrived with no holds barred to Baranof Warm Springs this year. Between Thanksgiving and Winter Solstice we received over ten feet of snow. Our world has gotten small. We rarely go outside the bay into the exposed waters of Chatham Strait. We use our boat almost daily; for checking the shrimp pot, go to the hot springs, and on the best of days to head off on a ski adventure. Wild Places is the family car. On Christmas day we enjoyed a lovely row at eight degrees Fahrenheit, and harvested shrimp for Christmas dinner.
