Welcome! Here in the Pacific Northwest, July 4th means the start of summer and so we celebrate with everyone else with a home BBQ and then go out to watch the fireworks over Puget Sound. If you need a boat for your late summer adventures, now is the time to give us a call; our order book fills up fast as summer gets rolling.
We have a lot of news for you this month, and hope you enjoy reading this newsletter as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
From our Mailbag
Our Mailbag again has been overflowing this fall so We’re sure you will enjoy reading about these adventures as much as we have.
Melonseed
Hi Dave!
I love my seaworthy Melonseed! Out in English Bay, Vancouver B.C., yesterday in a 15-knot westerly, we got spray over the bow, wetting our backs, but the boat remained dry.
Thanks again for a great design, well built.
Richard
We don’t usually go out when it gets this rough, but it’s good to know that our boats are performing well in these conditions. Note, everyone is wearing a lifejacket.
Jersey Skiff
One of our Jersey Skiff owners from Oregon has been out fishing for crabs and sturgeon. As you can see he does pretty well! Earlier this spring we got this series of photos and this note from him.
Thanks for the great boat!
We’re not catching the monsters – those fish are 42-44 inches – but I bet a 60″ would take us for a ride. Though I think if we pulled anchor these guys would still move us – we did do a Nantucket boat twirl with one. Hopefully we’ll go out with a third one of these days and get some boat shots – the two of us are a little too busy for picture taking.
If you ever want to give it a try, come on down – this is the good time, low tide in late winter. They’re also great eating.
Thanks – I’ll ping you ahead of any potential visit and just let me know if it’s not a good time. Hoping this week – may be up to see some folks in Olympia.
cheers, Kimo
All we can say is boy! Do we wish we could go sturgeon fishing with this much success around here. A trip South to investigate the possiblities next winter is on the plan book!
Forward Row System
One of our customers who built a Pigmy Wherry kit bought our Forward Row kit and installed it himself. We got this nice letter back from him.
Hello Dave,
Thanks for your help over the phone this morning. Installation was easy and went as it should. If the weather holds, I hope to get it in the water tomorrow.
Doug P.
No matter how you look at it, it’s a great kit.
Point Defiance
One of our customers who we have taken his order sent us this funny photo.
Hello Dave,
Thought because spring is just around the corner we may have a rehearsal. We just have to add a Gig Harbor Boat like a DEFIANCE and fun is going to start.
Cheers
Heinz,Thanks again, Dave, We are anxiously awaiting delivery of our new boat!
So that’s all the news for now. We hope to hear from you soon. We’ll be busy working on our next newsletter as well as your boats. So if email is slow, please call.
